Transfer Facility

GECL software has a Transfer Facility, which keeps separate copies of the data (or segments of the data) in sync with each other.  Data can be transfered between computers by e-mail, Local Area Network, Wide Area Network (WAN), or floppy disk.

Notebook Computers

The Transfer Facility is ideal for managers and sales reps who need to work away from the office using a notebook computer, and still have access to their data.  Data can be viewed passively (i.e. no changes or new data added on the notebook).  But the Transfer Facility will also support remote data entry on a notebook and uploading these to the main computer, either via the Local Area Network when you get back to the office, or by sending it via email (valuable if you will be away from the office for several days).

Remote Branch Offices

The Transfer Facility works very well where branch offices need to operate independently, but transfer data to the Head Office for monitoring and consolidated reporting.  Data would usually be sent between offices by email or WAN.
